Woods Interior: Flooring and Interiors
Overview // Logo Design
Role: Primary Designer
Team: Bighorn Design, Woods Interior Flooring America
Woods Interior, a flooring and interiors company, needed a modern refresh for a reopening in a new location within budget goals. The solution centered on a clean, minimalist mark with tree/wood cues and a confident green palette, built to translate directly to fixed-size exterior signage and employee apparel. Deliverables included the core logo, brand colors, and apparel applications. The result is a bold, energetic system that matches the new architecture, scales easily across uses, and brings motion and modernity to a legacy brand.
Woods Interior brought their classic oval logo and a rough sketch they'd been working on. Both celebrated trees but in completely different ways: original warm and established, their concept geometric and bold.
The best design work starts with knowing your limits. The new location had specific space constraints for signage, so we built the logo knowing exactly what it had to do at those dimensions. No crossing fingers and hoping it would work later. When you design with the real world in mind instead of fighting it, everything just clicks. First try, perfect fit.
A good logo proves itself in the real world. The clean geometric trees work perfectly on employee apparel - staying sharp whether embroidered or printed. For a team constantly on job sites meeting clients, branded gear becomes walking proof of professionalism.
Starting with 2 or 3 different directions helps define the brand voice early. Clean and geometric, organic and natural, traditional approaches - exploring what feels right for each project. These first concepts focus on finding direction rather than perfection. Once a client sees what resonates, we can develop the strongest approach with confidence.
